The Miami Dolphins worked out five players recently including LB Lamin Barrow, TE Gabe Hughes, DB Demetrius McCray, TE Chris Pantale and CB Tharold Simon.
McCray, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2013. He spent three years in Jacksonville before he was, unfortunately, among their roster cuts coming out of the preseason.
Since becoming a free agent, McCray has worked out for the Lions, Seahawks, Browns, Panthers, and Broncos but was never signed to a contract from any of those teams.
In 2015, McCray appeared in 14 games for the Jaguars and recorded 25 tackles and no interceptions.
Simon, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2013. Heโs currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.367 million rookieย contract and stands to make a base salary $675,000 for the 2016 season.
The Seahawks waived himย a few weeks into the regular season and was later claimed off of waivers by the Cardinals. Arizona decided to waive him last week to make room for CB Harlan Miller.
The Ravens also brought Simon in for a workout on Tuesday.
While Simon has shown some ability in the past, heโs dealt with numerous injuries since entering the NFL, which has led to him appearing in just 20 total games.
In 2016, Simon has appeared in nine games and recorded six tackles and no interceptions.
