Dan Graziano of ESPN.comย offers his take on some free agent running back targets that the Giants could consider in the next few weeks.
According toย Graziano, New York doesn’t need a “home-run hitter” ifย David Wilson is back and healthy followingย neck surgery.ย Graziano mentions that the Giants are really in need of a running back who is capable of picking up the blitz and being an effective receive out of the backfield.
With this in mind,ย Graziano believes guys likeย Donald Brownย (Colts) andย Rashad Jenningsย (Raiders) are probably the best fits for what the Giants need at running back.
While many viewย Ben Tate as one of the best available running back in this year’s free agent class,ย Graziano writes that Tate isย likely to cost too much for the Giants.
Re-signingย Andre Brown remains an option for them as well, but they are probably better off checking in on some free agents to see what their asking price is before approaching Brown regarding a new contract.
We have all three of these options listed in ourย Top 100 Free Agents list.ย
