Mark Eckel of NJ.com has spoken to an NFL agent who expects the Philadelphia Eagles to show interest in Titans QB Jake Locker this offseason.
The anonymous agent didn’t know if Eagles HC Chip Kelly would be willing to give Locker the opportunity to compete for a starting job, or if he would just be a replacement forย Mark Sanchez.
Kelly is obviously familiar with Locker, seeing as he played against him numerous times in the PAC 12.
Many have suggested that Sanchez is likely to be the best available quarterback in this year’s free agent class, which means he’s likely to be playing elsewhere next season.
Locker, 26, was taken with the No. 8 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans back in 2010. Since then, Locker has dealt with numerous injuries and has been erratic on the field, even when healthy.
The Titans elected to not pick up his fifth-year option last year, which means he’s in line to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming weeks.
In 2014, threw for 993 yards while completing 58.9 percent of his passes for five touchdowns and seven interceptions. He added another 142 yards rushing and a touchdown.
