Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Eagles LB Kamu Grugier-Hill suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain during Saturday’s practice and is expected to miss some regular-season games.
However, the good news is that he should return to the Eagles “relatively early” on in the season.
Reports out of camp have said that Grugier-Hill has been among the most impressive players and he was in the mix for a starting job to open the season.
Grugier-Hill, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2016. He lasted just a few months in New England before he was waived and later claimed by the Eagles.
Grugier-Hill currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.61 million contract and set to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season. He’s in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2018, Grugier-Hill appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles and recorded 43 tackles, one sack, an interception, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.
