The Philadelphia Eagles announced Thursday that they’ve placed WR Alshon Jeffery on injured reserve with a foot injury and promoted WR Robert Davis to their active roster.
- The Eagles also signed WR Deontay Burnett to the practice squad.
Here’s the Eagles updated practice squad:
- WR Marcus Green
- QB Kyle Lauletta
- RB De’Angelo Henderson
- C Keegan Render
- DT Bruce Hector
- TE Scott Orndoff
- CB Tremon Smith
- WR Marken Michel
- DT Albert Huggins
- WR Deontay Burnett
Reports had said that Jeffery suffered a season-ending foot injury, so this isn’t a big surprise.
John Clark reports that Jeffery suffered a Lisfranc injury that will require a long recovery. According to Clark, a decision whether Jeffery will undergo surgery should be coming in the near future.
Jeffery, 29, was taken in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Bears. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4.54 million rookie contract with Chicago before agreeing to a one-year, $9.5 million contract with the Eagles in 2017.
Jeffery later signed a four-year, $52 million deal with Philadelphia and will make a base salary of $11,750,000 for the 2019 season.
In 2019, Jeffery appeared in 10 games for the Eagles and caught 43 passes for 490 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for two yards and a touchdown.
