Eagles QB Michael Vick mentioned that his time as an Eagle may be coming to an end, but maintains that he still has “a lot of football left” in him, per Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Vick suffered a concussion mid-season and has been benched in favor of rookie QB Nick Foles in what has become a lost season for the team. Vick has played only nine games this season and is set to make $15.5 million next season with $3 million guarantees. The Eagles can avoid incurring a cap hit if they release Vick two days after the Super Bowl.
Vick should be able to draw interest on the free agent market from a quarterback-needy team, given that there aren’t a lot of upgrades available at the position. The Cardinals, Bills and Chiefs are some obvious teams in need of help at quarterback.
