Eagles Sign CB Trevor Williams To Futures Deal

The Philadelphia Eagles announced Friday that they’ve signed CB Trevor Williams to a futures contract for the 2020 season.

Here’s the updated list of futures signings for the Eagles:

  1. WR Marcus Green
  2. QB Kyle Lauletta
  3. C Keegan Render
  4. CB Tremon Smith
  5. WR Marken Michel
  6. DT Albert Huggins
  7. TE Alex Ellis
  8. WR River Cracraft

Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.

Williams, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State back in 2016. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was later signed to their practice squad.

Williams re-signed with the Chargers as a restricted free agent this past offseason but was waived from their injured reserve list earlier this month. The Cardinals claimed him off waivers before releasing him in October.

In 2018, Williams appeared in nine games for the Chargers and recorded 23 tackles, one interception and four pass defenses.
