Chris Russell reports that the Philadelphia Eagles have signed former Redskins S O.J. Atogwe.
Atogwe, 31, was released by the Redskins after signing a five-year deal worth $26 million, but was released following his first year with the team. The Eagles most likely see this as a move to add some depth to the safety position rather than increase the competition for a starting job. As of now, the Eagles figure to go with Nate Allen at free safety.
It was a little surprising to see him last this long, but team’s were obviously concerned about his ability moving forward.
