Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Eagles TE Dallas Goedert is expected to miss time after sustaining an ankle injury during Sunday’s game against the Bengals.
Goedert will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the issue. However, the expectation is that he’ll miss time.
If Goedert is likely to miss more than two weeks, placing him on injured reserve could make sense for Philadelphia, as they can activate him after three weeks and still add someone to their roster.
Goedert, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2018. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $5,624,271 contract and stands to make a base salary of $991,297 for the 2020 season.
Entering today’s game Goedert has appeared in two games for the Eagles and caught 12 passes for 131 yards receiving and one touchdown.
