Eagles Worked Out Veteran WR Bruce Ellington

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Eagles brought in free agent WR Bruce Ellington for a workout on Sunday.

This comes shortly after the news that the Eagles have waived WR Shelton Gibson with an injury designation.

Ellington, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.694 million rookie contract when he was waived by San Francisco and claimed by the Jets.

The Texans signed Ellington back in 2017, but he was released from injured reserve with a settlement last year. The Lions later signed him to their active roster before cutting him loose in February.

Ellington had a brief stint with the Patriots this offseason.

In 2018, Ellington appeared in seven games for the Texans and Lions and recorded 31 receptions for 224 receiving yards and a touchdown.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
