According to Tim McManus, Eagles WR DeSean Jackson is expected to be designated to return from injured reserve if the Eagles make it to the divisional round of the playoffs.
Jackson was placed on injured reserve earlier this season and isn’t eligible to return until the second week of the postseason. McManus says Jackson is feeling good and has run as fast as 19 miles per hour in rehab.
The Eagles are in the driver’s seat in the NFC East following Sunday’s win against the Cowboys and just need to win against the Giants this week to clinch a playoff spot.
Jackson, 32, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2008. He spent six years with the Eagles before signing a three-year, $24 million contract with the Redskins back in 2014.
After three years with the Redskins, Jackson once again departed in free agency and agreed to a three-year, $35 million contract that includes $20 million guaranteed with the Buccaneers. He was set to make a base salary of $10 million for the 2019 season when the Buccaneers later traded him to the Eagles.
Jackson signed a new three-year, $27 million deal shortly afterward.
In 2019, Jackson appeared in three games for the Eagles and caught nine passes for 159 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
