Everson Griffen Not Expected To Return To Vikings “Anytime Soon”

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Vikings DE Everson Griffen is not expected to return to the team “anytime soon” while he tends to his mental health.

A separate source tells Schefter that Griffen “could be back next week or could never play again, you just don’t know when it comes to mental health.”

Griffen has missed the past few weeks and has been focused on getting the help he needs. However, the Vikings have not barred him from their training facility, despite information including in the police incident report.

Griffen, 30, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2010. Griffen is in the second year of his six-year, $75 million contract that includes $34 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salray of $3.9 million for the 2018 season.

In 2018, Griffen has appeared in two games for the Vikings and recorded six tackles, one sack and a pass defense.

We’ll have more regarding Griffen as the news is available.
