Falcons DB Akeem King officially signed his exclusive rights tender on Friday.
Exclusive rights contracts are one-year contracts at minimum salaries, so this doesn’t guarantee him a roster spot next year. Although, he’ll at least get an opportunity to compete for a job.
King, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He was, unfortunately, waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the team’s practice squad before eventually being promoted to their active roster in November.
Last year, Atlanta placed him on injured reserve with a foot injury and he wound up missing the entire season.
In 2015, King appeared in five games for the Falcons and recorded one tackle and one pass defense.
