Falcons HC Dan Quinn announced on Monday that DE Takkarist McKinley will miss the rest of the 2019 season with a shoulder injury, per Kelsey Conway.
Atlanta will likely place McKinley officially on injured reserve in the coming days this week.
McKinley, 24, was selected with the No. 26 overall pick by the Falcons out of UCLA in the 2017 NFL Draft. He’s in the third year of his four-year rookie contract worth $10,216,792, which included a signing bonus of $5,570,392.
In 2019, McKinley appeared in 14 games for the Falcons and recorded 29 total tackles and 3.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 48 overall edge rusher out of 113 qualifying players.
