Ian Rapoport reports that Falcons OC Steve Sarkisian is expected to return for the 2018 season and will have the full confidence of HC Dan Quinn and his staff.
A report surfaced last week that many in coaching circles expected Sarkisian to end up with the Seahawks as their new offensive coordinator, replacing Darrell Bevell.
However, Quinn later told reporters that there was “zero chance” of this happening.
During his first year in Atlanta, Sarkisian has come under a lot of criticism for his play-calling and the overall execution of the team’s offense.
Sarkisian, 43, began his coaching career at El Camino College back in 2000 as their QBs coach. He left to join USC as their QBs coach the following year.
Since then, Sarkisian has worked for the Raiders, the University of Washington, and Alabama to go along with a few stints with USC. The Falcons hired him as their offensive coordinator last year.
In 2017, the Falcons’ offense ranked No. 8 in total yards, No. 15 in points scored, No. 13 in rushing yards and No. 8 in passing yards.
