The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday that they’ve placed S Keanu Neal on injured reserve and signed OL John Wetzel and DB Jamal Carter to their active roster.
- The Falcons also signed TE Carson Meier to their practice squad.
Hereโs the Falcons updated practice squad:
- WR Christian Blake
- S Chris Cooper
- QB Danny Etling
- OL Sean Harlow
- DT Jacob Tuioti-Mariner
- DT Justin Zimmer
- WR Brandon Powell
- T Nate Wozniak
- TE Carson Meier
Neal, unfortunately, suffered an Achilles tear in Week 3, so this move was expected.
Neal, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Falcons back in 2016. He was entering the fourth year of his four-year, $10,737,644 contract when the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option this past April.
Neal stands to make a base salary of $1.914 million for the 2019 season. The fifth-year option will cost the Falcons around $6.7 million for the 2020 season.
In 2019, Neal appeared in three games and recorded 14 tackles and no interceptions for the Falcons.
