The Atlanta Falcons announced Thursday that they’ve signedย DT Justin Zimmer to their practice squad and released DB Taveze Calhoun from the unit.
The Falcons’ practice squad now consists of:
- QB Kurt Benkert
- OT Daniel Brunskill
- TE Jaeden Graham
- TE Alex Gray (International)
- WR Devin Gray
- C J.C. Hassenauer
- DB Ryan Neal
- DT Jacob Tuioti-Mariner
- LB Richie Brown
- DB Deante Burton
- DT Justin Zimmer
Zimmer, 25, originally signed on with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Ferris State back in 2016. He lasted just a few months in Buffalo before he was waived at the start of the season.
The Saints later signed Zimmer to their practice squad towards the end of the 2016 season and brought him back on a futures contract a month later. Unfortunately, the Saints waived Zimmer last year and sat out the entire 2017 season.
Zimmer signed on with the Falcons this past April and he managed to make theirย 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. However, he was recently cut loose.
In 2018, Zimmer has appeared in one game for the Falcons.
