The Atlantaย Falcons officially signed DT Michael Bennett to a futures contract for the 2019 season on Thursday.
As of now, the Falcons have signed 10 players to futures deals including:
- QB Kurt Benkert
- WR Christian Blake
- DB Taveze Calhoun
- LB Jermaine Grace
- TE Jaeden Graham
- TE Alex Gray
- WR Devin Gray
- G Sean Harlow
- DT Jacob Tuioti-Mariner
- DT Michael Bennett
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Bennett, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2015. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2,418,700 contract and set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season when the Jaguars waived him coming out of the preseason.
The Falcons signed Bennett to a contract in early October but cut him loose after a few weeks to make room for OL Zane Beadles.
In 2017, Bennett was limited to appearing in just one game and recorded one tackle and a pass defense before being placed on injured reserve.
