Johnson, 23, signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of SMU last year. He had one year remaining on his contract and was set to make $495,000 for the upcoming season.
Last year, Johnson appeared in 10 games and caught 22 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown.
