Falcons Sign S Ronald Martin, Waive CB Rashard Causey

The Atlanta Falcons announced Friday that they’ve signed S Ronald Martin and placed rookie CB Rashard Causey on waivers.

Causey was one of the Falcons’ highest-paid undrafted signings back in May. However, he’s been battling a hamstring injury.

Martin, 26, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of LSU back in 2015. However, he, unfortunately, waived during roster cuts and later claimed by the Jets.

Martin was on and off of their 53-man roster during the 2016 season before the Jets traded him to the Colts. Martin has had brief stints on the Colts, Jets and Ravens’ practice squads this year.

For his career, Martin has appeared in 13 games for the Jets and Colts and recorded one tackle and no interceptions.

Causey, 22, wound up going undrafted out of UCF back in May. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Falcons.

During his college career at UCF, Causey recorded 64 tackles, two sacks, seven pass defenses, no interceptions, three forced fumbles and a recovery over the course of four seasons and 23 games.
