According to Aaron Wilson, the Falcons brought in four defensive players for workouts this week including DEs Shane Ray and Nate Orchard.
The full list of tryouts includes:
- DE Quinton Bell
- DE Nate Orchard
- DE Shane Ray
- OLB Pita Taumoepenu
Ray, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2015. Denver declined to pick up his fifth-year option last year and he finished his four-year, $9.116 million rookie contract.
The Ravens signed Ray to a one-year, $1.2 million deal back in May. However, he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.
Since becoming a free agent, Ray has worked out for the Colts, Jets, Bears, and Cardinals.
In 2018, Ray appeared in 11 games for the Broncos and recorded 10 tackles, a sack, and one forced fumble.
Orchard, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Browns back in 2015. He was in the final year of his rookie contract when Cleveland cut him loose coming out of the preseason last year.
He had brief stints with the Bills, Chiefs, Seahawks, and Dolphins before getting released by Miami coming out of this year’s preseason.
Since becoming a free agent, Orchard worked out for the Bengals, Raiders, Lions, and Broncos but left each meeting without a contract.
In 2018, Orchard appeared in four games for the Bills and Chiefs and recorded four tackles, no sacks and a pass defense.
