Former Giants OTÂ Ereck Flowers officially passed through waivers unclaimed on Wednesday and is now free to sign with a team of his choosing, according to Field Yates.
The Giants were trying to find a trade for Flowers but no deal ever surfaced and New York ultimately decided it was best to just move on from the former first-round pick on Tuesday.
Flowers, 24, is a former No. 9 overall pick out of Miami by the Giants in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was the final year of a four-year $14.391 million rookie contract that is fully guaranteed set to earn a base salary of $2,397,522 for 2018 when the Giants waived him on Tuesday.
The Giants declined to pick up Flowers’ fifth-year option back in May.
In 2018, Flowers has appeared in two games for the Giants.
