Veteran free agent RB Fred Jackson said he is working toward a one-day contract with the Bills to retire with the team.
“Have it in the works now,” Jackson said, via Nick Veronica of the Buffalo News. “That’s the plan, to come back and show Buffalo that my career in Buffalo was the most important thing to me in my football career and I would love to retire as a Buffalo Bill.”
“We’re in the works of talking and trying to work something out that will benefit both myself and Buffalo in making it happen.”
Jackson said in June of last year that he did not intend on retiring and was hoping for another opportunity, but was not able to land a contract.
Jackson, 37, is a former undrafted free agent out of Coe back in 2006. He spent eight years in Buffalo before signing on with the Seahawks for the 2015 season.
Unfortunately, Jackson wound up sitting out the 2016 season.
In 2015, Jackson appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks and rushed for 100 yards on 26 carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with 32 receptions for 257 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
