Josina Anderson reports that free agent DTย Ricky Jean Francoisย will travel to Chicago to meet with the Bears on Saturday and then to Seattle for a visit with the Seahawks on Sunday.
Previousย reports mentioned thatย Jean Francois was expected to meet with Seattle, but it appears as though things have changed and the Bears are now his first visit.
The Redskins released Jean-Francois a few days, so it appears his market is heating up fast.
Francois, 30, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2009. He played four seasons for San Francisco before departing and signing on with the Colts as an unrestricted free agent.
After two years, the Colts cut Jean-Francois loose and he signed a three-year, $9 million contract with the Redskins in February of 2015. He was set to make a base salary of $2.75 million for the 2017 season when the Redskins released him in a move that freed up $3 million of available cap space.
In 2016, Jean Francois appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and recorded 32 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a pass defense. ProFootballFocus rated him as the No. 45 overall interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.
