Free agent LB Will Witherspoon tells WJHG.com that he is in talks with the Falcons and Rams regarding a contract.
Up to this point, there has been no reported interest in the Witherspoon, but this is normally the time teams begin to approach veterans about possible camp invites.
The Falcons unfortunately lost Sean Weatherspoon for the season after he suffered a ruptured Achilles. Atlanta has since added Tim Dobbins, but they could probably use some extra depth at linebacker.
Witherspoon, 33, spent the 2013 season with the Rams and wound up appearing in all 16 games. However, he was limited to playing just 137 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
Witherspoon recorded 12 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery while contributing on special teams.
