Field Yates of ESPN reports that former Steelers and Colts RB Chris Rainey tried out for the Cardinals on Monday.
Andre Ellington is dealing with a foot injury that could cost him some time, so the Cardinals could be taking a look at their available options in the event that he’s unable to suit up in the coming weeks.
Rainey, 26, is a former fifth-round selection of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He lasted less than a year with the Steelers before he was placed on waivers. Rainey later signed on with the Colts in November of last year.
Last season, he appeared in two games and recorded six kickoff returns for 131 yards and four punt returns for 29 yards.
