Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that free agent RB Jay Ajayi has informed all 32 teams that he’s fully recovered from the ACL tear he suffered last year.
According to Rapoport, Ajayi’s market could “heat up quickly.”
As running back injuries start to mount around the league, it would not be surprising to see teams bring Ajayi in for tryouts in the coming weeks to get a feel for where he is right now.
Ajayi, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.5 million contract and made a base salary of $1.9 million for the 2018 season.
The Eagles acquired Ajayi in a trade with the Dolphins that sent a 2018 fourth-round pick to Miami. He has been a free agent since March.
In 2018, Ajayi has appeared in four games for the Eagles and rushed for 184 yards on 45 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 20 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
