Free Agent RB Tim Hightower Visiting The Giants Wednesday

Update:

Dave Hutchinson of the Newark Star-Ledger believes the Giants are just “kicking the tires” on free agent RB Tim Hightower by bringing him in for visit on Wednesday.

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that free agent RB Tim Hightower will visit with the Giants on Wednesday.

  • Chris Russell adds that the Redskins have also shown interest in possibly re-signing Hightower at some point as well.

Hightower previously scheduled a meeting with New York back in April, but for some reason the visit was delayed.

Hightower suffered a torn ACL back in 2011, which forced him to sit out last season. According to Vacchiano, the Giants are likely just doing their due diligence regarding Hightower, but assuming things check out physically, there’s at least a chance he could receive an invite to training camp.

As of now, the Giants backfield consists of David Wilson, Andre Brown, Ryan Torain and Da’Rel Scott, but a healthy Hightower could be a good depth signing for them.
