Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.netย reports that NFL teams are “falling in love” with Alabama OT D.J. Fluker and specifically mentions that there’s talk that he may have a hard time getting past either the Giants or the Bengals in the first-round of this year’s draft.
Pauline notes that “teams were blown away” by him during weigh-ins and adds that Fluker came off as “articulate, respectful and likable” at this year’s Senior Bowl.
It’s still early in the draft process, but many have Fluker as a second-round prospect at this point in time.
Cincinnati has to make a decision regarding OT Andre Smith, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent, so there’s a chance they could be looking for a tackle in the draft. The same goes for New York, as they too will have to address OT Will Beatty, but could also use some additional offensive line help.
We have Fluker listed as the No. 39 best prospect in our 2013 Big Board.
