The New York Giants have designated WR Sterling Shepard to return from injured reserve, per Jordan Raanan.
New York also started the practice window for CB Brandon Williams, per Dan Duggan.
Shepard was placed on injured reserve with turf toe last month.
This opens a three-week window of time for the Giants to activate him from injured reserve and add him to their 53-man roster.
Raanan adds there’s a chance Shepard is able to play Thursday night against the Eagles.
Shepard, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Giants back in 2016. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $5.944 million contract when he agreed to a four-year, $41 million extension that includes $21.3 million guaranteed last year.
In 2020, Shepard has appeared in two games and caught eight passes for 76 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
