According to Bryan McFadden, the Giants are scheduled to host former Steelers CB William Gay on a visit Thursday. McFadden adds that a contract is pending on the outcome of a physical.
This is the first reported interest in Gay since he was cut loose last month.
It’s worth mentioning that signing Gay to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.
Gay, 33, is a former fifth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2007. He played the first five years of his NFL career in Pittsburgh before joining the Cardinals for the 2012 season.
Gay returned to the Steelers a year later and spent another five years with the team before Pittsburgh released him this past March.
In 2017, Gay appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers and recorded 19 tackles, one interception, two forced fumbles and three pass defenses.
