The New York Giants announced Saturday that they’ve promoted WR Johnny Holton to their active roster for Week 3’s game against the 49ers.
Holton, 29, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster each of his first two years with the Raiders, but was cut loose at the start of the 2018 season and later signed to their practice squad.
From there, Holton had a brief stint with the Eagles before catching on with the Steelers last year. The Giants signed him to a contract before adding him to their practice squad.
In 2019, Holton appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers and caught three passes for 21 yards on 15 targets. He also rushed once for nine yards.
