Giants Reportedly Aren’t Looking To Replace HC Tom Coughlin

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Giants HCย Tom Coughlin hasn’t been told whether or not he’ll be back next season.

However, the Giants reportedly aren’tย looking to make a change at head coach, according to Rapoport, andย Coughlin wants to coach another year.

Steve Serby of the New York Post reported a few weeks ago that the odds of Coughlin returning forย the 2015 season have “skyrocketed dramatically.

Sources told Serby at the time that there is a โ€œ99.9 percent heโ€™s backโ€ย for next season, so this news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

There has been a great deal of speculation as to whether or not this could beย Coughlin’s final year in charge of the Giants. However, they did just install a brand new offensive system that has shown some positive signs throughout the year, but firing Coughlin leaves them in a tough position.

Do they promote OC Ben McAdoo after just one year with the team, despite the fact that he has no experience as a coordinator or a head coach beyond this? They could also move on completely, but this would force Eli Manning and the offensive to be on their third system in as many years.

Coughlin has led them to two Super Bowl win in the past eight years, but his team hasn’t won more than nine games since the 2010 season.

His overall regular season record with New York is 96-79 (.549), but he has won eight of 11 postseason games.
