The New York Giants wound up placing five players on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday, which leaves a number of available roster spots that need to be filled.
Three of these roster spots went to LB James Davidson, G Eric Herman and DT Dominique Hamilton, who were promoted from their practice squad.
Dan Graziano of ESPN reports that the Giants have also signed RB Chris Ogbonnaya to a contract.
Ogbonnaya, 28, was most recently with the Carolina Panthers, but was placed on waivers last week.
This season, Ogbonnaya has appeared in five games and ran for 50 yards on 14 carries (3.6 YPC) and scored one touchdown.
