According to Dan Duggan, the Giants are waiving OT Brian Mihalik on Sunday.
New York will also waive WR Alonzo Russell, per Duggan.
Mihalik, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Eagles back in 2015. He was unable to make their 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but later signed on to the Eagles’ practice squad.
Mihalik had brief stints with the Steelers and Lions before he was claimed off of waivers by Detroit last year. The Lions elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason and he eventually signed on to the Giants’ practice squad.
In 2018, Mihalik appeared in five games for the Giants.
Russell, 26, originally signed on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo back in May of 2016. He was among the team’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and signed to their practice squad.
The Bengals re-signed him to a one-year futures deal but waived him once again as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit. The Cardinals signed him to their practice squad in November of 2017 before he caught on with the Giants the following offseason.
In 2018, Russell appeared in one game for the Giants and did not record a stat.
