Giants Waive RB Paul Perkins, Claim TE Kaden Smith

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Giants have waived RB Paul Perkins and claimed TE Kaden Smith off waivers on Monday.

Perkins, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Giants back in 2016. The Giants waived Perkins with a non-football injury designation last year and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.

Perkins is currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.59 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season.

In 2017, Perkins appeared in 11 games for the Giants and rushed for 90 yards on 41 carries (2.2 YPC) to go along with eight receptions for 46 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
