“Good Chance” The Saints Sign Veteran C Jonathan Goodwin

According to Mike Triplett of ESPN.com, there is a “good chance” the Saints sign veteran C Jonathan Goodwin at some point this summer.

However, Triplett adds that New Orleans does have faith in second-year C Tim Lelito, who appears to be their projected starter.

Goodwin worked out for the team a few weeks ago, but there hasn’t been a lot of buzz since then. The Saints didn’t come away from the draft with a center prospect, so there is a good chance they could add some depth at the position before the start of training camp.

Goodwin, 35, recently worked out for New Orleans, but there hasn’t been any buzz surrounding him since this was first reported a few weeks ago.

Last year, Goodwin was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 15 center in the league, which was largely due to his above-average run-blocking ability.

We have Goodwin rated No. 15 in our Top Available Free Agents List.
