Hawthorne Close To Re-Signing With Seahawks

According to ESPN’s John Clayton, LB David Hawthorne could be close to re-signing with the Seattle Seahawks.

In an interview with 710 ESPN Seattle, Clayton stated that negotiations between Seattle and Hawthorne, who was an undrafted free agent in 2008, but became a starter in 2009, were “intensifying”.

I would have to think he’s going to probably to come back on a two- or three-year deal… I wouldn’t be surprised if they could get something done today. But I know that the communication has still been there from the Seahawks“, Clayton said.

Hawthorne has led the team in tackles in the last three seasons, and also recorded two sacks and three interceptions in 2011. He visited the New Orleans Saints, who opted to sign former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Curtis Lofton, and was scheduled to visit the Detroit Lions, but they instead re-signed Stephen Tulloch.
