Osi Umenyiora‘s decision to not force his way out of New York paid off in the biggest way this season as they managed to win their second Super Bowl in the last four years. But that doesn’t change the fact thatย Umenyiora future with the team remains uncertain.
Umenyiora was asked about his future with the Giants to which he stated;ย “Whatever happens next season happens.”
Osi’s 2012 salary commitments will beย $3.975 million which is a great number for the Giants but hardly something that he’ll be willing to accept. ย If the Giants don’t address his contract during the early part of the offseason, a holdout seems like a strong possibility.
There will be team’s interested in acquiring him but it willย ultimatelyย come down to what they’re willing to give up for a 30 year old defensive tackle.
