Jaguars HC Gus Bradley announced Monday Blaine Gabbert has been cleared to return and is expected to be their starting quarterback against the Colts.
Gabbert needed 15 stitches in his throwing hand a little over a week ago, so could be some issues related to this injury.
Chad Henne filled in forย Gabbert against the Seahawks and completedย 18-of-38 passes for 235 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Given the task at hand, this probably wasn’t as bad as things could be the Jaguars offense. Either player is unlikely to make a dramatic impact in the win column this season, so I guess the thinking is to give Gabbert more opportunities to showcase what he can do before they consider going in a completely different direction.
