Peter King of Sports Illustrated believes thatย the Jaguars areย going to let Maurice Jones-Drew sit and allowย Rashadย Jennings to handle the majority of the team’s workload this season.
King mentions that the Jaguars coaching staff, as well as the local media, have praised backup running back Jennings.
Jones-Drewย has base salaries of $4.5 million and $4.95 million left for the next two seasons, but it’s not going to be easy for him to secure a long-term agreement at this point in his career. Ifย anyone’sย to blame, it’s probably Jones-Drew’s agent for putting him in this position.
Jennings has shown promise in the past, but injuries have really impacted his productivity in year’s past. Hopefully that will change this season.
