The Jacksonville Jaguars promoted RB Jeremy McNichols to their active roster on Saturday and placed WR Michael Walker on injured reserve.
The Jaguars will be without RB Leonard Fournette for Sunday’s game, so it makes sense that they would add another running back.
McNichols, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2017. He signed a four-year contract worth $2,663,788 with Tampa Bay but was, unfortunately, cut loose coming out of the preseason.
From there, McNichols had brief stints with the 49ers, Colts, Broncos and Titans before signing on to the Jaguars’ practice squad a few weeks ago.
During his college career at Boise State, McNichols rushed for 3,205 yards on 571 carries (5.6 YPC) to go along with 103 receptions for 1,089 yards receiving and 55 total touchdowns over the course of three seasons and 34 games.
