The Jacksonville Jaguars signed OLB Quanterus Smith to their practice squad on Monday, according to Tad Dickman.
The Jaguars practice squad now consists of:
- OLB Quanterus Smith
- G Kadeem Edwards
- WR Rasheed Bailey
- QB Jeff Tuel
- WR Shaquelle Evans
- DB Rashaad Reynolds
- WR Rashad Lawrence
- DL Richard Ash
- TE Ben Koyack
- OL Chris Reed
- LB Todd Thomas (Injured)
Smith, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Broncos back in 2013 out of Western Kentucky. He was unfortunately cut loose by the Broncos with a failed physical designation days before this year’s NFL Draft.
The Jets signed him to their practice squad a few weeks ago before cutting him last week.
In 2014, Smith appeared in 15 games for the Broncos, but recorded just 11 tackles and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 51 defensive end in a 4-3 system out of 59 qualifying players.
