The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the signing of former Colts RB Delone Carter on Monday.
- To make room for Carter, the Jaguars placed RB Justin Forsettย on the season-ending injured reserve.
Carter, 26, spent two seasons with the Colts before joining the Baltimore Ravens. He only lasted just a few weeks with the team before getting start at the start of the regular season.
During his time inย Indianapolis,ย Carterย rushed for 499ย totalย yards on 133 carries and added five touchdowns.
As forย Forsett, he broke a bone in his foot back in Week 12, so it’s really not all that shocking that his season has come to and end.ย Forsett totaledย 31 yards on the ground and 15 receptions for 82 yards in nine games this season. He is under contract for the 2014 season, but that could always change in the coming months.
This is just another indication thatย Maurice Jones-Drew‘s Week 15 injury is concerning enough that he could be held out.ย Carter’s addition will likely be to provide depth behindย Jordan Todmanย andย Denard Robinson.
