The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Saturday that they’ve signed TE Carson Meier to a contract and waived RB Roc Thomas with an injury designation.
Should Thomas clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the Jaguars’ injured serve list.
Thomas is suspended for the first three games of the 2019 season, but plans to join the team in Baltimore for their practices with the Ravens this week.
Thomas, 23, signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville State in 2018. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Vikings and managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.
The Vikings waived Thomas in November, but re-signed him to the practice squad. Thomas returned to Minnesota on a futures contract this past January before being waived a few weeks ago.
The Jaguars signed Thomas to a contract last week.
In 2018, Thomas appeared in five games and rushed for 30 yards on eight carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 21 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
