Jaguars Waive LB Arthur Brown, Promote LB Sean Porter

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they’ve placed LB Arthur Brown on waivers Tuesday and promoted LB Sean Porter to the active roster.

Brown, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Ravens but hasn’t come close to living up to his draft status. Brown is in the final year of his four-year, $3.554 million contract.

The Ravens cut Brown loose coming out of the preseason and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.

In 2016, Brown has appeared in 12 games and recorded three tackles for the Jaguars.

Porter, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He spent just close to three seasons in Cincinnati before he was waived in November of last year and later signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad.

Jacksonville brought Porter back on a future’s deal. However, he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and was later signed to their practice squad.

In 2014, Porter appeared in one game but didn’t record a single statistic.
