The New York Jets announced Monday that veteran WRย Santonio Holmes has been released.
This move comes with little surprise given that we have been talking about Holmes being a cap casualty for over a year now.

- Releasing him frees upย $8.25 million in cap space, according toย OverTheCap.com.
Last year, Holmes caught 23 passes forย 456 yards receiving and a touchdown over the course of 11 games.
