Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News points out on Twitter Monday afternoon that although Braylon Edwards wasn’t one of the wide receivers trying out for the Jets Monday, he is still on the team’s radar.
Wide receivers Laurent Robinson and Austin Collie were among the multiple players trying out for the Jets. Even though that list doesn’t include Edwards, he still could be added to the roster after training camp starts.
Edwards, 30, has been very quiet in free agency. No previous reports of him visiting other franchises have surfaced.
After having appeared in just three games with the Seattle Seahawks last season, he likely would be a back up option if Collie or Robinson don’t pan out.
