Jets Expected To Hire Rick Dennison As Run-Game Coordinator/OL Coach

Adam Schefter reports that the Jets expected to hire former Bills’ OC Rick Dennison as their run-game coordinator/offensive line coach.

Earlier in the week, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported that the Jets had reached out to Dennison about their run-game coordinator position, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

It’s worth mentioning that Dennison previously worked with new Jets OC Jeremy Bates while they were together in Denver.

Dennison, 59, began his NFL coaching career with the Broncos as an offensive assistant back in 1995. He spent 14 years in Denver before joining the Texans as their offensive coordinator.

Dennison spent one year with the Ravens as their QBs coach before returning to the Broncos as their offensive coordinator in 2015.

The Bills hired Dennison as their offensive coordinator last year. However, the fired him after just one season in Buffalo.

In 2017, Dennison’s offense ranked No. 29 in total yards, No. 22 in points scored, No. 6 in rushing yards and No. 31 in passing yards.
