According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets have “significant interest” in signing veteran DE Vinny Curry.
This would re-unite Curry with Jets GM Joe Douglas, who were both a part of the Eagles’ Super Bowl team.
Curry, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2012. He signed a five-year, $47.25 million contract that included $23 million guaranteed with the Eagles back in 2016 but was in March of 2018.
The Buccaneers later signed Curry to a three-year deal for up to $27 million in 2018 but was cut loose after one season.
He signed a one-year, $2.25 deal with Philadelphia last offseason.
In 2019, Curry appeared in all 16 games and recorded 27 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and five sacks. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 22 overall edge defender out of 107 qualifying players.
